Earlier this week, CNN ‘New Day’ anchor Chris Cuomo apologized to his audience after he couldn’t control himself during an interview with Russia Today’s Peter Lavelle, who was defending Russia’s MH17 response. Cuomo didn’t do much journalism during the interview–he pretty much just accused the guy of lying. Cuomo ‘s apology said “the emotion sometimes gets the better of you…I apologize for getting involved with what became more about emotion than reason there for a moment.” This kind of emotion isn’t regulation for a professional TV anchor but then Cuomo may not be a professional.
Professional journalist normally don’t threaten people in public. This week a man on Twitter who goes by @AndyColeNewport made a comment about Russia and its reliance on US dollars and technologies like iPhones and 3D printers. On how Russians are abusing American technology, he tweeted that with 3D printers the Russians are “busy printing mutilated babies.” Chris Cuomo tweeted in response: “if u r mocking dead kids, I won’t just block you, I will find you.” Cuomo is the brother of New York governor Andrew Cuomo, who recently said about the same thing to people charged with investigating him.
