Production procrastination has been the main buzz around Ant-Man. Till now. Marvel maestro Kevin Feige brought “a little something to show” at Comic Con and though there wasn’t action from Paul Rudd or Michael Douglas, there was plenty of cinematic atmosphere and a good set-up for what’s in store.
The footage is preliminary, but the voiceovers of Dr. Pym and Scott Lang give a sense of the sharp dialogue and edgy humor Ant-Man will shoot for. We see the empty lab–a modest operation by superhero movie standards–but it contains a first, exciting glimpse of the famous silver Ant-Man helmet. The footage then cuts away from the lab to show Ant-Man in a chase scene, with Pym telling him what to do–a communication that we understand will need to get better. Evangeline Lilly joined Corey Stoll, director Peyton Reed, Rudd, Douglas and Feige on stage. Filming is set to start in August. Ant-Man is due next summer.
