Dennis Johnson thinks an old law on the Oklahoma’s books forbidding the sale of goods below cost is really obsolete. A small business owner, Johnson believes success depends far more on service than price. As he put it blithely in a recent debate: “(People) might try to Jew me down on the price. You know what? That’s free market.” The silver-tongued Mr. Johnson is the Oklahoma House of Representatives Co-Majority Leader.
It was brought to the lawmaker’s attention that his comments might be offensive. Johnson swiftly apologized to the Jews for the slur, adding that they were known as good business people.
