In a radio interview, Richard Dawkins, evolutionary biologist, professor at Oxford and Berkeley, author of The Selfish Gene, The Extended Phenotype, The Blind Watchmaker, The God Delusion, and The Magic of Reality: How We Know What’s Really True, among others (books which have been translated into more than thirty languages and sold upwards of six million copies), inventor of the zeitgeist term meme, winner of the Michael Faraday Award, The Kistler Prize, The Nierenberg Prize, and a Royal Society of Literature Award, among others, a man recently ranked 20th on a British newspaper’s list of 100 Living Geniuses, was asked a fairly simple question.
