In the TV movie A Mother’s Escape, when married woman Murel leaves her abusive, alcoholic husband Tommy (Damon Carney) and takes her 7-year-old son Kipp (Spencer Mabrey) with her, she’s accused of abducting the boy. Driving across the state of Oklahoma and headed to California, Murel and Kipp are on the run not just from Tommy but the police, too. Murel proves that she’s willing to do anything to keep Kipp far away from his adoptive father Tommy.
Murel is portrayed by Tara Buck. She’s known for her roles on Ray Donovan (Maureen Dougherty), True Blood (Ginger), Nip/Tuck (fake carver victim Rhea Reynolds), and Party of Five as Ricki, her first recurring TV role. Buck is also recognized for her role as Beverly in the 2016 Netflix film Pee-wee’s Big Holiday. A Mother’s Escape premieres on LMN on Sunday, October 2 at 8pm.
