Rapper Fat Joe told some new stories to DJ Clark Kent and Russ Bengston on Quickstrike at Complex, including busting out a beauty about losing an auction on some museum quality Air Jordans. He wasn't at Sotheby's, in case you were wondering. Number 23 himself, Michael Jordan, was auctioning off a complete collection of vintage AJs on All-Star weekend back in the day and Fat Joe was salivating. It was all for a good cause--and the kicks came in a glass case. The case, for some reason, apparently drove Fat Joe's bidding frenzy. He got up to $500,000--half scared he might win.
High, sure--but "it was in my crazy days," Fat Joe said, and then he mentions the glass case again. Plus he was bidding on the "Picasso of sneakers" according to his story. Fat Joe got to keep his money though, and somebody else got the Jordans--and the glass case. Some guy named Mark Cuban outbid him.
