U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin is railing against his colleagues on the GOP-led House Oversight Committee for its “wasted efforts and failures” in pursuit of the alleged crimes of President Joe Biden.
The whistle blower whose information triggered the allegations was identified this week as Gal Luft, an accused arms dealer and alleged Chinese agent who skipped out on bail.
Remember the GOP’s star FBI "whistleblower" witness, who they swore would redeem their doomed partisan probes into the president?

It turns out he’s a fugitive and indicted unregistered foreign agent brokering arms-and-oil deals with China and Iran while fleeing U.S. justice. pic.twitter.com/F9YJJQE96Q
“This was going to be the big mystery whistle blower witness,” Raskin says in the video above, “who was finally going to redeem the last six months of wasted effort and failures in Republican investigations on the Oversight Committee.”
Luft was difficult to locate and interview because he is “a fugitive from the U.S. government fleeing this charges of making false statements, being an arms trafficker trying to set up this Chinese arms for Iranian oil deal and then also failing to register as a foreign agent,” Raskin says.
With the Luft revelation, Raskin also warns Republicans that they should be more worried about CCP (Chinese Communist Party) infiltration and manipulation than about alleged bias in American law enforcement agencies like the FBI and DOJ.
As Committee Chair, Rep. Comer has been pugilistic in pursuing investigations into what he characterizes as the “Biden crime family” — alleging, among other things, that President Biden was bribed by a foreign entity during his time as Vice President.
NEW: RM @RepRaskin and @RepDanGoldman sent a letter to Chairman Comer calling for an investigation into whether @GOPOversight may have relied on false statements or misinformation provided by Mr. Luft. https://t.co/Ppc73aO1Xd

[NOTE: Here’s how Axios described the investigations that bubbled up in May: “House Republicans’ new claims of an “alleged criminal scheme” involving Joe Biden have unleashed a frenzy of headlines in conservative media, setting off impeachment speculation even before any evidence has been produced.”]
Months later the evidence is still not produced, but the “Biden crime family” narrative lives on. It’s a narrative the Chinese government isn’t unhappy with, Raskin implies in a letter to Comer.
That letter, co-authored by Rep. Dan Goldman, expresses “concerns” that Comer’s investigation into Biden may be part of a manipulative plot run by the Chinese. Raskin portrays Comer as a dupe, denigrating the U.S. President with specious allegations on behalf of Chinese communists.
“It appears as if Mr. Luft sought ‘whistleblower’ status from you in an effort to defend himself from criminal prosecution while a fugitive from justice,” write Raskin and Goldman. “Worse yet, this latest episode also raises concerns that Mr. Luft may be manipulating your investigation not only for his own self-interest but perhaps also in furtherance of the CCP’s efforts to undermine U.S. security interests and the President of the United States.”
