Many Hollywood stars celebrated National Bikini Day by sharing photos of them rocking a two-piece swimsuit including Fast & Furious star Jordana Brewster and Oscar winner Salma Hayek (Frida).
When the 56-year-old Mexican-born brunette shared the stunning photo below, of her posing in a pool in a frilly string bikini, she wrote: “Can you believe the bikini has only been around for 77 years?! Let’s hope they don’t ban them too,” and added the hashtag #notathrowback.
Hayek’s fans and famous friends are going wild over the new bikini pic and are showering her with compliments including: “Salma Hayek is the ALL-TIME GREATEST EXAMPLE of How Keeping In SHAPE Keeps You Looking YOUNG!”
As seen below, it’s not the first time Hayek has recently shared a bikini pic.
The photo and message provoked fellow actress Arielle Kebbel to share a personal story. She wrote: “I once had a bf that told me ‘we needed to get me a once piece’ when I came out to the pool wearing a bikini … For him. now I love bikinis even more.”
Fans of both women are sharing their own stories, and sending words of encouragement and empowerment including one who told Kebbel: “I hope you threw the whole man away.”
Kebbel, who does not have any bikini photos on her Instagram account, is known for her roles in movies including Aquamarine (see bikini pic above), John Tucker Must Die (Carrie), and on TV series including Gilmore Girls (Lindsay), 9-1-1 (Lucy) and Ballers (Tracy), among others.
Get ready to see more of Hayek: she’s filming a World War I movie with Angelina Jolie, who directs.
