As the water surrounding Florida reached record-setting hot tub temperatures (hovering near 100 degrees Fahrenheit), former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said it was MAGA Republicans — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is one — who should be in hot water over the global rise in temperatures.
Hot enough for you?

Thank a MAGA Republican.
Or better yet, vote them out of office. https://t.co/0MFC6rPq6o
Life-threatening heat waves and related wildfires are firing up the planet, as people don’t need the media to tell them, and a study out this week by a team of international researchers asserts that the scorching rise, far from being natural, would be “virtually impossible” without what humans are doing to the environment, chiefly through carbon emissions.
Clinton and other Democrats blame intransigent Republicans, especially those reliant on oil industry campaign funds, for the current situation — after years of GOP resistance to climate change initiatives and casting doubt on the prevailing climate science.
A large part of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy‘s springtime showdown with President Biden over raising the debt limit was in service of McCarthy’s securing concessions for the fossil fuel industry, including opening up more drilling sites and giving leases that ensured a sharp rise in domestic production of oil and gas.
The Senate Budget Committee said at the time that McCarthy’s proposal to extend the debt ceiling relied on an “oily wish list written by polluters, for polluters. In fact, 275 out of 315 pages of the MAGA bill are devoted to giveaways to the fossil fuel industry.”

Clinton is amplifying a situation Biden expressed last July at a speech he gave at a wind power plant (converted from a coal power plant) in Massachusetts.
“Not a single Republican in Congress stepped up to support my climate plan. Not one,” Biden said. “So let me be clear: climate change is an emergency.”
One MAGA Republican with whom Clinton is very familiar is GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, who as President withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Climate Agreement and dismantled major climate policies, rolling back more than 100 laws meant to provide environmental protection.
Trump, of course, does not currently hold office and so isn’t technically someone Clinton urges people to “vote out.” Keep Out, however, is surely part of Clinton’s message when it comes to the top MAGA man.
