Legendary country music star Garth Brooks, one of the world’s best-selling music artists, just announced that he will headline the first ever Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff concert to celebrate the start of the college football season at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, home of the NFL team the New Orleans Saints.

The big event, which includes special musical guests Lainey Wilson and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, will take place on September 2. Louisiana Tourism is promoting the Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff as a “boot-stompin’ good time.”
With the video below, which is captioned “Ain’t going down till the sun comes up,” at the very end, Brooks tells his fans, “Bring your helmet.”

Tickets ($98.98 each, includes fees and taxes) for the inaugural Sugar Bowl Country Kickoff will go on sale this Friday, July 21, at 10 am via Ticketmaster.
Fun fact about the Superdome (formerly known as the Mercedes-Benz Superdome until 2021): the arena set its record attendance — 78,133 — at WrestleMania 34 (in 2018).
