MAGA Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene‘s recent speech attempting to denigrate President Joe Biden was, instead, perceived as music to the ears of Democrats. Greene, with what she evidently saw as contempt, enumerated a laundry list of Biden’s priorities — healthcare, education, the environment, finishing “what FDR started” — and it sounded — well, it sounded pretty good to Democrats. Even to the White House.
Enter “Dark Brandon” — the meme identity of President Biden’s less avuncular alter ego. (The “Dark Brandon” nickname derives from flipping another attempt to excoriate Biden, the euphemistic “Let’s go Brandon” chant that became a meme that is code for insulting Biden.)
Dark Brandon, the laser-eyed all-business political infighter with a cool demeanor, took Greene’s speech word-for-word and made a political ad out of it, just as California Congressman Ted Lieu suggested. Democrats swooned, hearing the MGT voiceover on the Biden 2024 ad.

Democrats are going wild over the ad, which they see as detailing the hypocrisy and backwards priorities of their MAGA enemies. Doesn’t everybody want educated children? they ask.
An account actually named Dark Brandon wrote:
“I’d say landing @mtgreenee as our campaign spokeswoman was a ‘coup’ but I don’t want to give her any ideas. I suppose we can add one more to the broadest coalition of support of any Presidential candidate in history.”
Others are replying with a sort of righteous satisfaction:
Love you, Joe. Wisdom prevails at a time in US democratic history when it has never been needed more.

Another wrote: “I thought it would take A.I. to make something like this, but it’s real!!!”
Deep concerns over “deep fakes” are already altering the perception of what future political campaigns will look like, as citizens and lawmakers both envision artificial intelligence technology being used to make leaders appear to say things they never said.
But Congresswoman Greene’s speech proves sometimes what they politicians do say is just as dangerous to them.
