Mike Huckabee, former Governor of Arkansas (1996-2007) and two-time Republican candidate for President (2008, 2016), slammed First Lady Jill Biden for remarks she allegedly made about the fealty of Donald Trump‘s loyal defenders.
Huckabee cites the conservative blog HotAir, which reports that the First Lady said she found it “a little shocking” that Trump still had so many supporters after his indictment.
HotAir wrote that Biden was “speaking to a small group of Democrat donors in an apartment on the Upper East Side of New York City” when she said allegedly said of the Trump loyalists: “They don’t care about the indictment. So that’s a little shocking, I think.”
First Lady Biden was quoted by HotAir on the day Trump arrived at the federal courthouse in Miami to be arrested and charged with 37 criminal counts related to his handling of classified documents.

Huckabee wrote to his constituents on social media: “Jill Biden is ‘shocked’ that some Republicans still support Trump after her husband’s Administration indicted him. Funny, I’m shocked that anybody still supports Joe Biden, and that includes his wife.”

HotAir notes that it “seems appropriate” that Ms. Biden was visiting the tony neighborhood of the Upper East Side, because, it says, “the Democrat Party is the party of the wealthy and elites.”

Huckabee is among a large group of Republicans coming to the defense of former President Donald Trump in the wake of his indictment in Miami on numerous criminal charges.
Huckabee joins MAGA adherents including Kari Lake, J.D. Vance, and Steve Scalise, who in their criticism of the Trump indictment seek to link the prosecution directly to President Biden — claiming Biden has indicted Trump — a narrative that denigrates the independence of the DOJ.
