Twitter/X owner Elon Musk announced that he will appoint Linda Yaccarino as the company’s new CEO, a position he will vacate upon her arrival.
Ms. Yaccarino, a Penn State graduate, is a media industry veteran with vast experience the advertising ecosystem. She will leave NBCUniversal, where she is Chairman, Global Advertising & Partnerships.
Yaccarino has been a recipient of numerous honors over the course of her successful career, including being one of three women named last year by She Runs It as the organization’s “2022 Women of the Year.”

– First, I want to congratulate her on the new position. I sincerely hope that everyone, on both sides of the aisle, give her a fair chance to really push Twitter forward.

The venerable She Runs It marked its 59th Annual Women of the Year by honoring Yaccarino, along with Bea Perez of Coca-Cola and Elizabeth Rutledge of American Express.
The award honors “trailblazers in marketing, media and tech” — a description which Yacarrino is presumably about to take to a whole new level. Twitter, renamed X, is on a path to be what Musk calls the “everything app” — a trail that requires major blazing.
She Runs It says their awards “honor the uncanny ability of leaders to achieve equal measures of business success and social responsibility.” It’s surely uncanny ability that Musk seeks and Twitter needs.
