Expressing outrage that her decorum fell outside the boundaries and rules of the committee, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene ranted that “Republicans will never defeat the Democrats, we’ll never impeach Mayorkas, we’ll never impeach Biden, and we’ll never implement our conservative agenda if we can’t even call a liar a liar.”
Greene shared video from a congressional hearing during which she called Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas “a liar” and was reprimanded by other committee members, including House Committee on Homeland Security chair Mark Green, a Tennessee Republican.

Green, in making a ruling on MGT’s statement, says: “It’s pretty clear that the rules state that you can’t impugn someone’s character. Identifying or calling someone a liar is unacceptable in this committee and I make the ruling that we strike those words.”
MGT was incensed at being censored.
Notably, Chair Green is not a Biden supplicant, nor has he expressed great support for Secretary Mayorkas, calling them out for alleged “deriliction of duty.”
Green’s statement upon being elected to the chair position was: “For the sake of our national security and homeland security, ending the border crisis Biden created is our top priority. At a time when illegal immigrants are flooding our border by the millions, no community in the U.S. will be unaffected. We must stop the flow of fentanyl that is killing hundreds of thousands of Americans. We will empower our brave CBP personnel with the necessary tools to accomplish the mission. And make no mistake, we will hold President Joe Biden and Secretary Mayorkas accountable for their complete dereliction of duty in failing to respond to this crisis.”
