Kristen Ledlow has few equals as an NBA sideline reporter and host, even with all the capable hands out there roaming NBA courts. Ledlow just has the “it” factor that sets her apart. Even LeBron James takes notice:
But it’s not just LeBron that gets Ledlow’s passion flowing. She’s battling for James’s pal and NBA exile Carmelo Anthony, too. Anthony still can’t find a spot on an NBA roster, which Ledlow thinks just doesn’t add up.
In the segment below with her terrific podcast partner Candace Parker, hear Ledlow get increasingly riled up — she sounds furious and perplexed — at the logic, such as it is, that’s somehow keeping Carmelo Anthony out of the NBA.
It’s common to say Anthony was the scapegoat for Houston’s poor start last year, but Ledlow goes further. She thinks Anthony’s NBA exile is outrageous. “You can’t look at all 30 NBA rosters,” she says, “and look at those names and tell me that 80% are better or more effective [than Anthony would be].”
