Mitchell Robinson is the 7’1” center playing for the New York Knicks. After he committed to attend Western Kentucky University he withdrew and instead spent the 2017-18 season training on his own before being selected by the New York Knicks in the 2018 NBA Draft.
Robinson had a good rookie year. In March 2019, Robinson became the first Knicks rookie since the legendary Willis Reed in 1965 to record 19 points and 21 rebounds in a game (Toronto crushed the Knicks 117-92).
Before starting the 2019 season, the 21-year-old surprised his mother, Lakesha Hall, with a brand new car, a white Impala, in the video above. When she sees the car turning onto her street, she runs toward it, barefooted and with a baby on her hip! Robinson wrote: “Had to show my momma appreciation for helping me become a man and a better player.”
The Atlanta Hawks play the New York Knicks on Wednesday, October 16 at Madison Square Garden at 8 pm on ESPN.
