NBA guard Markelle Fultz has all the tools to figure it out. But unfortunately the NBA playbook on Fultz right now is that you can leave him open. REALLY OPEN. Watch what the extremely well-coached San Antonio Spurs do when Fultz has the ball on the wing at the 3-point line. That’s just ridiculous.
The Spurs don’t mean to embarrass Fultz — it’s just that they have to guard the stronger options.
As the Orlando Magic noted recently when they picked up a very expensive option on the former No. 1 pick in the NBA draft, “he was #1 for a reason.”
Maybe this fastbreak slam was what they had in mind?
That reason, or reasons, were Fultz’s athleticism and the powerful way he simply got after it. Since then, a shoulder injury and a hollow experience in Philadelphia has dampened his prospects, if not his spirits. But just look at this man. You have to think he’ll figure it out. Seems he only needs his confidence back. All true NBA fans are looking forward to its return.
