NBA superstar Kristaps Porzingis looks ripped and ready, not to mention relaxed as he talks with reporters during his first Dallas Mavericks training camp. The relaxation probably comes from having escaped the long-suffering New York Knicks franchise.
Taking his place in the bright New York media spotlight is first round pick R.J. Barrett, who recently announced he has plans to “posterize” Porzingis, dunking on him in a game.
Porzingis, being a shot blocker, says he’s always “up for the challenge.” Shot blockers sometimes get posterized, it’s part of the job.
But Porzingis did seem a little surprised that with all Barrett has on his plate at Madison Square Garden, his list of future accomplishments includes a dunk against the Mavs. But so be it, the 7’3″ Porzingis concludes. “It’s a good goal for him, to try to dunk on me. That’d be cool, I respect that,” Porzingis says genially.
