Lowry speaks volumes when he calls Kawhi “regular” and “not this” and “not that.” Because Kawhi Leonard is a taciturn, hard-to-read superstar — and so fans and the media have tried to solve the mystery of Kawhi by filling in the “this” and the “that” about him. Leonard, who plays a seemingly ego-free brand of basketball, is a coach’s dream and has made himself a favorite among NBA legends and analysts like Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal. (O’Neal in particular talks about Leonard in glowing terms, calling him “phenomenal.”)
