Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr initially said he did not know whether injured superstar Kevin Durant would travel with the team for the first two games NBA Finals games in Toronto. Durant, who has acknowledged that certain fans and media are always trying to keep him as an outsider, apparently wouldn’t miss a trip to Toronto with his team for the world.
Video has emerged (see below) that purports to show Durant walking toward the Warriors jet — walking gingerly and seeming to favor his injured calf muscle. Durant strained his calf muscle on a routine play on May 8 in the Warriors series against the Rockets. He has not played since, but he hopes to play in the NBA Finals at some point.
Durant has been ruled out for Game 1, but the 2x defending NBA Finals Most Valuable Player has given fans hope. Durant had his hands full as he walked toward the plane under his own power — he was even carrying his own carry-on bag.
