There’s star power and then there’s superstar power. Singer and idol Ariana Grande possesses a very firm grip on the latter. In a video that looks more like an old school Super 8 home video than a sophisticated iPhone mini-movie, Grande utters only the words “that’s dirty, that’s dirty” and chuckles. Oh and she says “sorry” once. It’s enough to mesmerize her fans.
The performance brings to mind that common compliment people often give to astonishing singers, versions of which are “I’d listen to her sing the grocery list” or “I’d listen to her sing the alphabet.” (In fairness, the alphabet does come with a catchy melody.) Grande performed her very crunchy eating of the dirty celery and less than 24 hours later she had amassed more than 3.5 million views of the celery video. See below.
