Hey we’ve seen those Gatorade commercials where actress/producer/all-around star Gabrielle Union torches hubby/NBA legend Dwyane Wade in the gym. The NBA All-Star can hardly keep up with his super-fit wife.

So even though we wanted to write the headline ‘Dwyane Wade’s Wife Gabrielle Union Took Dirk Nowitzki’s Wife Out on the Town in Miami’ we couldn’t. It makes sense because it’s Wade and Nowitzki who are all over the headlines right now, both bringing stellar careers to a close on the same night — and earning praise from everyone including former presidents. But still, while “Dwyane Wade’s wife” is an accurate description of Gabrielle Union, it doesn’t seem appropriate as an adjective, you know? Because Gabrielle Union is too much to be qualified by her spouse!

Besides, this was a lady’s night we’re talking about, right? Yup, Union revealed that as part of the grand farewell for both superstar players, she made sure Dirk’s wife Jessica got her propers too, on the Mavs last visit to Miami. Union shared the fun fact that she hosted Jessica and her friends for a night out in Miami the last time these two basketball titans clashed in South Beach.
Nowitzki’s wife certainly appreciated the hosting, but she probably could go either way about Union’s share. We’re talking about a ready-made celeb (as are all NBA spouses) who keeps her instagram account private!
The game, which the Heat won in dramatic fashion 106-99, occurred on March 28. That’s a Thursday night, maybe the best night out in South Beach.
