Urban Float on Shark Tank is a spa that encourages customers to float in water in their sensory deprivation pods. Floating is known to help a body relax, to relieve stress, and common aches and pains. Urban Float pods are filled with 10 inches of warm water and 1200 lbs. of Epsom salt, and customers are encouraged to float nude. Anything you wear while floating in an Urban Float pod will become heavy with Epsom salt and cause a distraction during your float.
Why not just fill up your tub at home to get the same results? Well, can your whole body comfortably float in your tub, can water in your tub maintain a steady 93.5 degree temperature, do you have 1200 lbs. of Epsom salt?

The two founders of Urban Float, Joe Beaudry and Scott Swerland from Seattle, Washington, pitch the innovative alternative therapy on Shark Tank on March 17 in front of Guest Shark Matt Higgins (Miami Dolphins Vice Chairman) but it’s Kevin O’Leary who steps into a (dry) Urban Float pod to get a feel for the experience. Urban Float is seeking an investment on Shark Tank to continue its expansion. They opened their second spa in Houston, Texas.

Swerland has his hands in several businesses and not just in Washington. One month prior to the Urban Float Shark Tank episode airing, his Las Vegas-based company TruFusion announced a partnership with Guest Shark and former New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez and NFL quarterback Russell Wilson. With the pro athletes’ financial backing, TruFusion will open ten of their fitness and yoga studios throughout the state. Check out Rodriguez (and his now-fiance Jennifer Lopez) working out at a TruFusion location in the video below. New episodes of Shark Tank air Sundays at 10 pm on ABC, right after American Idol.
