Comedy lovers rejoice – Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon is back on TV and reprising her role as Grace’s upstairs neighbor and nemesis Val Bassett on Will & Grace. Last time we saw Val was in January when Jack (Sean Hayes) accidentally hit her while he was working as a Lyft driver. On the episode “The Real McCoy,” while Will (Eric McCormack) gets newscaster McCoy Whitman (returning guest star Matt Bomer) another chance, Grace has to butter up Val. The deciding vote in Grace’s (Debra Messing) campaign for Design Guild president belongs to Val.

Their first meeting in the elevator doesn’t go well. Val, rocking a yellow cardigan with a bejeweled eye on her chest, is seen giving Grace the “airquote” treatment. But things turn around for Val after a visit to the upscale department store Barneys. Grace and Val have been fighting since Season 2 of the original Will & Grace — check out the music box scene below. Will & Grace airs Thursdays at 9:30 pm on NBC, right after Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
