The protagonist of the Lifetime movie “Love You to Death” is Esme. She lives with her mother Camile (Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden, Pollack) who has Esme and the rest of the world believing that Esme is terribly ill. As Esme’s caretaker, Camile receives everyone’s sympathy and money raised in Esme’s name by charities. When Esme grows suspicious of her mother’s manipulation, Esme has her boyfriend kill Camile. Love You to Death is inspired by the true story of the late Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard and her daughter Gypsy Blanchard, who is currently serving 10 years in prison for the second degree murder of her mother.
