In The Big Bang Theory episode “The Confirmation Polarization”, while Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) asks Penny (Kaley Cuoco) to work for her, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy’s (Mayim Bialik) Nobel nomination worthy super asymmetry theory is proven by two physicists, Dr. Pemberton and Dr. Campbell from Chicago. But when Sheldon learns that the two physicists want to bump Amy off the Nobel nomination, Sheldon finds himself in a pickle.
Dr. Pemberton is portrayed by Sean Astin (Rudy, The Lord of the Rings). Dr. Campbell is portrayed by Kal Penn. He’s known for his roles on Designated Survivor (Seth Wright), New Girl (Tripp), Deadbeat (Clyde), Battle Creek (Fontanelle White), How I Met Your Mother (Kevin), House (Dr. Lawrence Kutner), and in the Harold & Kumar movies (Kumar), and the Van Wilder movies (Taj), among others. Fun fact: Actors Bialik, Penn and Astin are all graduates of UCLA. The Big Bang Theory airs Thursdays at 8 pm on CBS, right before its spin-off Young Sheldon.
