The Hallmark Winterfest movie A Winter Princess is about Princess Carly (Natalie Hall, Charmed, All My Children), who’s working incognito at a ski resort to plan the resort’s 50th anniversary celebration. Carly is teamed up with the owner’s handsome young brother Jesse (Chris McNally). While the resort in the film is called Snowden Peak Mountain Resort, it was actually filmed at Big White, one of the largest mountain ski resorts in British Columbia, Canada.

Big White’s summit is at 7,608 ft., and the village is 5,758 ft. above sea level. There are a total of 118 “designated” trails and 27 unnamed trails at Big White, which is also known for its night skiing. It’s not the first time camera crews have been to Big White. The snowboarding comedic movies Shred and Shred 2 were filmed at Big White and nearby SilverStar. (For trip info to Big White, try here.) A Winter Princess premieres on Hallmark Channel on Friday, January 18 at 8pm. [NOTE: Here’s a bunch of Hallmark movies streaming on Amazon with free trial.]
