Kitty Kasas is a line of functional cat furniture that is durable, stackable and easy to clean. The founders, Nikki Linn and Rusty Niedwick of Basalt, Colorado and Newport Coast, California, pitch their pet business on Shark Tank on January 20. The tattooed entrepreneurs in black branded work shirts make quite the entrance into the Tank — on a motorcycle! [Kitty Kasas are available for delivery from PetCo.]
Kitty Kasas is both a product and a mission — a very contemporary company that is half product, half social responsibility and positive sustainable message. Indeed, Linn and Niedwick have been in the animal rescue field for years — and they’ve been highly effective advocating for new homes for pets. For two decades these animal lovers ran a foundation to help rescue animals get a second chance in a loving home. (As they like to say, advocating for rescue animals: “buy beer, not puppies!”)

So Kitty Kasas is about houses and about homes: the Kitty Kasas product provides great houses for cats — cool, colorful, stylish, stackable — as the founders help find the pets great homes. Kitty Kasas, as the company founders say on Facebook, is “much more than a pet product company — it is a way to support shelters and rescues and fosters!!!! In the 20 years we have run the Arni Foundation shelter we have saved more than 27,000 animals from death row,” they write. New episodes of Shark Tank air Sundays at 9 pm on ABC. Kitty Kasas are also available at Walmart.
