In the Below Deck episode “All That Glitters Isn’t Gold,” the crew’s wild evening out prompts a passionate, late-night tryst for Rhylee and Tyler, but there’s trouble in paradise for Ashton and Laura. As the team’s eighth charter begins, childhood insecurities resurface for Josiah Carter when returning guest, Charley, and his friends remind him of past bullies he faced while coming out.
Josiah says, “When I was in high school, they were bullying me because I was gay. I then went to the gay world and they were bullying me because I wasn’t wearing the right things or wasn’t gay enough. It just wasn’t fun for me.” Knowing that Charley and his friends who are all gay and look like the guys who used to bully him are coming on the boat, “is pushing me back into a road I don’t want to go down.” Below Deck airs Tuesdays at 9 pm on Bravo.
