Buzzy4Shots is a device designed for people with needle/syringe phobia. Buzzy is a small ice pack that uses vibration to numb skin before receiving a medical shot. The founder of Buzzy, pediatric doctor Amy Baxter, MD, pitched her business on Shark Tank in February 2014. Dr. Baxter went into the Tank seeking a $500,000 investment in exchange for 5 percent equity. She didn’t get an investment on the show but she has continued to grow the Buzzy business. More than 5,000 hospitals and clinics across the country use Buzzy and more than 100,000 units have been sold.
