Butter Cloth is a line of buttery-soft dress shirts that “feel like you’re wearing a favorite t-shirt but looks like a sophisticated casual dress shirt.” Butter Cloth shirts are made of 100% cotton but “a unique manufacturing process” turns the shirts into a ready-to-wear, stretchy material that doesn’t-wrinkle or retain body odor. They retail from $98 to $118. The fashion designer behind the brand, Vietnamese-born entrepreneur Danh Tran, is pitching his business on Shark Tank (October 28) with an unlikely celebrity partner (NBA basketball player Metta World Peace). Over the past year, Butter Cloth investor Metta World Peace has been wearing his Butter Cloth shirts when addressing big crowds (see below) and even on the finale of Celebrity Big Brother. Tran, a graduate of Otis College of Art and Design, worked as head designer of men’s wear at Affliction Clothing for the past ten years. Affliction Clothing is designer attire for those who “appreciate Rock & Roll, Moto Culture, Tattoo, America, Military, Veterans, and MMA.” Prior to Affliction, Tran was a designer/pattern maker at Mattel, where he designed clothes for Barbie dolls. New episodes of Shark Tank (Season 10, 2018) air Sundays at 9 pm on ABC, right before the new celebrity talk show, Sundays with Alec Baldwin.
