In the Marlon episode “Man Code,” Marlon (Marlon Wayans) and Stevie (Essence Atkins) see Yvette’s (Bresha Webb) fiancé, Demetrius, cheating on her. Ashley thinks they should tell Yvette but Marlon says he can’t break the “man code.” Nor does he want any broken bones. Demetrius is a big dude.
Demetrius is portrayed by Thomas Quinn Jones. The former football running back was drafted in the 2000 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals out of the University of Virginia. He went on to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets, Chicago Bears (Super Bowl XLI) and Kansas City Chiefs. Jones retired from the NFL in 2011 and has been acting since 2013. He’s known for his roles on Marvel’s Luke Cage on Netflix (Comanche) and Being Mary Jane (Brandon), among others. Marlon airs Thursdays at at 9pm and 9:30pm on NBC.
Fun fact: Thomas Q. Jones is big brother of former NFL running back Julius Jones. In 2006 they became the first brothers in the NFL to each rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.
