On the second round of auditions for America’s Got Talent Season 13, judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B, and Howie Mandel are treated to the music of Christian singer Michael Ketterer, and his life story. Michael and his wife Ivy have adopted five children out of foster care. “All of our kids have come from pretty desperate situations,” says Michael. One of their sons had eaten rocks because he was so malnourished. They adopted another boy with shaken infant syndrome, which is a serious brain injury resulting from forcefully shaking an infant or toddler. He is in a wheelchair.
Ketterer says, “To actually take care of an orphan and see transformation in their life requires a tenacity as a parent. You can not give up, no matter what.” Ketterer just released his debut album Touching Heaven (see link above) which includes his single “Kingdom.” America’s Got Talent (AGT) airs Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
