In the Season 14 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, “Cold as Ice,” one of Grey Sloan Memorial’s own, Dr. April Kepner (Sarah Drew) is rushed to the hospital. The EMT says, “I think we lost her,” which Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) denies. She tries to prove the EMT wrong. Meanwhile, the staff also receives a visit from Dr. Nicole Herman, former Head of Fetal Surgery at Grey Sloan, who is not known for being warm and fuzzy. Nicole Herman is portrayed by Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis (The Accidental Tourist, see link above). She’s also known for her roles on the TV shows The Exorcist (Angela Rance), Commander in Chief (President Mackenzie Allen), The Geena Davis Show (Teddie Cochran), and Buffalo Bill (Wendy Killian), among others. Davis is also well recognized for her roles in the films A League of Their Own (Dottie), Thelma & Louise (Thelma), The Fly (Veronica Quaife), Tootsie (April), and as the voice of Mrs. Little in Stuart Little, among others. Grey’s Anatomy airs Thursdays at 8pm on ABC.
