“Nothing is easy in this life,” says Brazilian soccer superstar Gabriel Jesus. “If you want to get somewhere, if you dream of being somebody, you have to go for it with body and soul.” That’s part of the profile of Jesus from the 2018 FIFA World Cup documentary Phenoms appearing on Fox and FS1 in preparation for the world’s greatest team sporting event, the World Cup. Jesus, a star for Manchester City, is just 21, but he has already come a long way — and been tested. The dynamic forward was slowed by an MCL injury this season, missing ten games early. But Jesus recently announced he is approaching his “best football” which means good things for Brazil and bad things for their opponents in Russia this summer.

Despite returning to score important goals for Man City, Jesus is his own harshest critic. “I am very self-critical and always will be. I think this makes me want to improve, always,” Jesus said. So if he says he’s returning to his top form, the good news for Brazil is coming from a trustworthy source.
Phenoms premieres Friday, May 25 at 8pm on FOX. The Phenoms episode “Attackers” will re-air Sunday, May 27 at 8:30pm on FS1. The Phenoms episode “Defenders” will re-air Sunday, May 27 at 9:30pm on FS1.
