On the second episode of Season 7 of Basketball Wives, the cameras follow as Jen Williams (ex-wife of NBA player Eric Williams) goes to court to seek a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend. Jen used to date Tim Norman. Norman runs his mother’s soul food restaurants Sweetie Pie’s in St. Louis. (Norman’s mother is Robbie Montgomery, a former backup singer for Ike and Tina Turner.)

Prior to working at Sweetie Pie’s, Norman did 10 years in prison for armed robbery. (He was 17 when he went in.) Norman says prison saved his life. His comeback story caught the attention of the Oprah Winfrey Network which produces the reality TV show Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s which is currently in its 9th and final season. The last episode will air in June 2018.
