In the MacGyver episode “Skyscraper – Power,” Mac (Lucas Till) and Jack (George Eads) are on a mission to save a billionaire’s son, Ethan Jericho (guest star Elisha Henig, Zach Braff’s son on Alex, Inc.) Ethan has been kidnapped by a former Navy SEAL who has cut off the power and communication lines to the Shanghai skyscraper where the boy lives. In order to save Ethan, Mac and Jack must commandeer a private jet. On the jet is an older couple – Saul and Edith. Saul puts up a fight.
Edith is portrayed by Piper Laurie. Saul is portrayed by Hollywood legend Ed Asner. The 5x Golden Globe winner and 7x Emmy Award winner is known for his roles on Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda, and Lou Grant (as Mr. Grant!), and in films including Elf (Santa) and JFK (Guy Bannsiter), among many others. The 88-year-old is known as a political activist (a Democrat) and as a former SAG honcho (he lead the 1980 SAG strike). MacGyver airs Fridays at 8pm on CBS, right before Hawaii Five-0.
