Jackie Foster is the alt-rock band singer competing on The Voice Season 14. With the help of her new coach, Alicia Keys, she’s made it to the Top 11. For her next performance, the one she hopes will advance her to the Top 10, Jackie will perform The Who song “Love, Reign O’er Me” aka “Pete’s Theme.” It was written and composed by The Who guitarist Pete Townshend. With nothing left to live for, the narrator of the song (suicidal Jimmy) finds a spiritual redemption in pouring rain.

The Who played the song at Live Aid in 1985 (see video below), and in 2007, the American band Pearl Jam covered the song for the film “Reign Over Me” starring Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
