In the S.W.A.T. episode “Ghosts,” Hondo (Shemar Moore) and the team go on the hunt for a serial killer who everyone thought was dead. Turns out he faked his death two years ago and is still on the loose. Meanwhile, Hondo continues to worry about Buck Spivey (guest star Louis Ferreira), the team’s former leader, who is slipping into a deep depression after being fired from the department. In this episode, we also get to meet “badass” Valerie Rocker. With a name like that, think she’s related to S.W.A.T. team member Rocker? (Lou Ferrigno, Jr.)

Valerie Rocker is portrayed by Michele Boyd. The 5’10” tall actress is for her roles on Two and a Half Men (Nikki), Geek Cred (Callie), Team Unicorn (Blue Unicorn), Big Time Rush (Annie Winters), Solo: The Series (Rebecca Drizhal), The Guild (Riley), and How I Met Your Mother (Jolene), among others. What many don’t know about Boyd is that she was a Navy brat, was on her high school’s varsity swim team, and graduated from University of California, Davis where Boyd studied neurobiology. S.W.A.T. airs Thursdays at 10pm on CBS, right after Life in Pieces.
