Urbio makes modern wall storage, organizers and planters. After a successful Kickstarter campaign (their goal was $15,000; they received $77,000 in pledges), the founders of the company, Jared Aller and Beau Olyer, pitched their business on Shark Tank in January 2013. They went into the Tank seeking an investment of $300,000 in exchange for 12 percent equity. After a “Shark fight” between Kevin O’Leary, Robert Herjavec and Lori Greiner, Urbio made a deal with the Queen of QVC — $400,000 in exchange for 15 percent equity.
One year after appearing on Shark Tank, Urbio expanded its distribution and launched a number of retail stores around the world. In 2015, Urbio partnered with 3M to launch its Perch line and acquired the Sabi Space bathroom organization line. In 2016, Urbio was acquired by Berkeley, California storage and organization product manufacturer Honey-Can-Do.
