The amount of talent and cuteness featured on the first night of American Idol Season 16 auditions is impressive. Teenager Noah Davis from Royal, Arkansas has an adorable “wig” moment with judge Katy Perry. And contestant Dennis Lorenzo pulls off an amazing, soulful performance with his acoustic guitar which has a hole in it. But one of the cutest moments is when 16-year-old Layla Spring introduces her little sister Dixie, 7, to the judges — Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan.

Country singer Spring is still in high school, and she’s doing her best to keep true to herself and her roots in Lebanon, Kentucky (Marion County). She’s always talking about Marion County. On the road, she recently told her local newspaper: “I miss my home, I miss everyone there so much. I feel like I’ve definitely stayed pretty true to my roots, I’ve kept my country accent and not changed that. I don’t think I could even if I wanted to. I just think the main goal for me is to always stay humble.” When compared to other country singers on American Idol like Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood, Spring says humbly, “I’m hoping to be like Carrie Underwood, that would be great.” American Idol airs Sundays at 8pm on ABC.
