On the Speechless episode “E-I-= EIGHTEEN,” JJ (Micah Fowler) turns 18 and feels like an adult but his mother (Minnie Driver) throws him a birthday party in the backyard more suited for a 10-year-old. When JJ storms out, Kenneth follows him and together they dip into adulthood at a convenience store. Meanwhile, JJ’s brother Ray (Mason Cook) tries desperately to keep his girlfriend Taylor (Sedona James) from falling for Lars, the “obscenely beautiful” foreign exchange student who’s living with Taylor’s family.
Lars is portrayed by 21-year-old Belgian model Janis Ostojic. He is represented by NTA Models in Italy, Louisa Models in Germany, and Book Management in Canada. Speechless is Janis’ acting debut in the U.S. (if you don’t include the episode where he appeared as himself on Lifetime’s Growing Up Supermodel, last year). The son of professional model JD Ostojic (photo below), Janis made his debut on the big screen in Belgium in the horror film De Opdracht (translated “The Assignment”). Speechless airs Wednesdays at 8:30pm on ABC, right after The Goldbergs.
