O.A. Foods offers three organic food brands: O.A. Quinoa, O.A. Chia, and Palmini, a product made out of a natural plant (Hearts of Palm from Bolivia) that when cut and cooked looks like pasta (spaghetti or linguini). It’s a healthy alternative to traditional pasta which is packed with carbs, calories and sugar. One pound of gluten-free, sugar-free Palmini is 15 calories and 3 grams of carbs per serving. And it comes pre-cooked! All you have to do is rinse it and throw it in pan with your favorite sauce. The entrepreneur behind O.A. Foods, Alfonso Tejada of Pinecrest, Florida, is pitching his organic food business on Shark Tank on February 25. Palmini and Tejada deliver a lively demonstration.

Tejada has the advantage of pitching in front of Lori Greiner who often mentions on Shark Tank how important it is to her to eat healthy, and guest Shark Bethenny Frankel who sold her Skinny Girl cocktails and food company to Fortune Brands Beam Global (now a company of Suntory) for an estimated $100 million. New episodes of Shark Tank air Sundays at 10pm on ABC.
