In The Orville episode “Krill,” Captain Ed Mercer (Seth MacFarlane) and Lt. Gordon Malloy (Scott Grimes) are sent on a dangerous mission to infiltrate a Krill ship and to snatch a copy of the Krill bible to better understand the enemy. During the mission, Ed meets with Admiral Ozawa.
Admiral Ozawa is portrayed by Kelly Hu. She’s known for her roles on Arrow (China White), The Vampire Diaries (Pearl Zhu), Hawaii Five-0 (Laura Hills), Army Wives (Jordana Davis), CSI: NY (Detective Kaile Maka), Martial Law (Chen Pei Pei), Nash Bridges (Inspector Michelle Chan), and Sunset Beach (Rae Chang), among others. Fun fact: Hu made her acting debut on the 1987 sitcom Growing Pains as Melia, a girl Mike Seaver meets while the family vacations in Hawaii (where Hu was born and raised). The Orville airs Thursdays at 9pm on FOX.
