Husband and wife team Richard Rhett and Juli Rhett of Vicksburg, Mississippi are the founders of Sierra Madre Research. The outdoor camping gear company is known for its lightweight modular hammock shelters. It’s like a tent but it doesn’t touch the ground and it’s great against the rain and wind.
Sierra Madre Research offers three different kinds of hammocks for the different needs of outdoor enthusiasts: The Pares, $99 (the widest and longest considered a “double”); The Solo, $89; and The xPlor, $79 (the smallest and lightest for people 5’6″ or shorter). Shark Tank airs Sundays at 8pm on ABC, right after The Toy Box.
