Shania Twain isn’t know as a dancer, but dancing — as DWTS judges Carrie Ann and Bruno (not so much Len!) will tell you — is at least half about conveying the emotion of the dance. At conveying emotion, Shania is as good as it gets. With her first new album in 15 years — #ShaniaNOW — captivating her fans, Shania will help judge the DWTS dancing of the nine remaining couples on Dancing With The Stars ‘Movie Night’. And she’ll also perform her heartwrenching song ‘Soldier’ from the new album. ‘Soldier’ fits into the Dancing With the Stars movie night theme seamlessly — it’s featured in Thank You For Your Service, the movie about returning Iraq war veterans that hits theaters this weekend.
[Shania NOW, streaming and on CD at Amazon]
Shania alone will be performing music from a war movie. (Though Thank You For Your Service is part domestic drama too, not a typical war film.) The other types of movies the DWTS dancers choose are lighter (what isn’t?): action, foreign, spy, musical, sci-fi, drama, sports and animation. Here are the nine remaining contestants and their DWTS pro dance partners, the type of dance they will perform on DWTS Movie Night, and the name of the song they’ll perform to. Also, in some cases, the name of the movie the song comes from!
