South African tennis star Kevin Anderson isn’t just married to his wife Kelsey Anderson — like many tour pros, the couple also counts themselves as business partners. Co-founders of the tennis site Realife Tennis, the Andersons offer an inside look at what it takes to make it on tour — from Kevin giving video groundstroke lessons to Kelsey talking about how to eat right for success. (Hint: processed foods, not a favorite.) It’s not too surprising that the Andersons have launched an athletic/entrepreneurial partnership — they met at the University of Illinois while Kevin played tennis there and Kelsey was a member of the Women’s Golf Team.
Kelsey graduated from Illinois with degrees in accounting and finance and landed a gig at the prestigious Ernst & Young as a CPA. After leaving corporate life to manage Kevin’s tour-affiliated affairs, Kelsey found the life fascinating and started blogging about it, naming her efforts “Tour Wife Tales.” (She is rightly proud of the fact that Andy Murray called her blog “simply fantastic.”) Tour Wife Tales can now be found as part of the larger offerings at Realife Tennis. Kelsey is originally from Florida, born in West Palm Beach. After her husband, Kelsey’s favorite tour players are Rafa Nadal and Gael Monfils.
