Two pet food businesses go head-to-head on the season finale of Steve Harvey’s Funderdome. One is Enjoy-a-Bowl, a bowl that lures picky pets to eat their dog food by using the scent of human food. The other is Fedwell Pet Foods, a line of dog line made with crickets. Why crickets? Founder Emily Lagasse of Sudbury, Massachusetts explains that crickets are high in protein, low in fat, and produce minimal greenhouse gases.
Fedwell Pet Foods makes a variety of products including pet food — Oven Baked Chicken Kibble (from $32.99) and Oven Baked Lamb Kibble ($from $36.99), their famous Cricket Dog Treats ($12.95), and a line of dog vitamins and supplements. Fedwell is available on Amazon (see link above) and on the company website. Steve Harvey’s Funderdome airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
