Lucas Holliday is the 26-year-old singer from Lansing, Michigan who is competing on The Voice, Season 13. For his Blind Audition he sang the Kate Bush song “This Woman’s Work.” Jennifer Hudson was the only coach who turned around. When everyone turned around they couldn’t believe Lucas was white. Blake Shelton repeatedly joked about Lucas looking like the TV character Frasier. Adam Levine said, “you know you’re like the whitest dude.” (The whitest dude on Frasier was actually Niles, but that’s a different story.)

Jennifer Hudson then joined Lucas on stage and they sang together. In between notes, she turned to her fellow coaches and confirmed, “He’s white.” Afterwards, JHud said, “Everything about Lucas is so interesting,” and he represents what the show is all about. “This is going to be one of the most interesting pairings [in the show’s history]” said Carson Daly. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm on NBC.
