Better Life is a line of all-natural, kid-friendly, pet-friendly cleaning products that are just as effective (if not more) than the chemical-ridden products on the market. The founders of Better Life, Kevin Tibbs and Tim Barklage of St. Louis, Missouri, demonstrated their product against other products on Shark Tank in 2013. They were looking for a $400,000 investment in exchange for seven percent equity. All five Sharks offered deals but Tibbs and Barklage went with the Queen of QVC Lori Greiner — $400,00 for 17 percent equity (if/when the $400k was paid back within 3 years, the equity goes down to 7 percent).

After Shark Tank, Better Life redesigned their packaging, got on the shelves of more big retail stores including Target and Walgreens, relaunched their e-commerce site, and introduced new products including Better Life Tub and Tile Cleaner (see link above). And staying true to their eco-friendly pledge, the Better Life manufacturing plant in St. Louis is now powered with solar panels which generate approximately 65,326 kWh annually — that’s the environmental equivalent of about 122 barrels of oil being burned, or the planting of 186 trees every year.
